The rigor and authenticity of artisanal roasting

At Lenoir & Lacroix, we believe that our approach as a roaster must above all value the work and passion that coffee growing demands. To do this, we rigorously respect the authenticity of the different exceptional terroirs. As proof, president Christian Lacroix has visited more than 25 coffee-producing countries, and met the artisans of the selected terroirs, according to three criteria: organic farming, fairness, and organoleptic qualities. Since our beginnings, we have aimed to restore coffee to the noble status it deserves.

Indeed, as a micro-roaster since 2005, we have chosen the following values:

  • Environmentally friendly production; zero CO2 emissions;
  • Direct purchases from producers or cooperatives of organic and fair trade coffee;
  • Establishment of lasting relationships with chosen coffee producers;
  • Respect for people, terroirs, and taste.

A coffee story

In 2004, Christian Lacroix went to California to act as a consultant in the development of a micro-roasting project. Commissioned by an entrepreneur from Long Beach, he participated in the creation of a unique, differently conceived micro-roaster.

Upon his return to Quebec in 2005, he launched his own roasting operations. It was from this desire to rethink the traditional approach that Lenoir & Lacroix was born, with a vision focused on renewal.

Shortly thereafter, his brother Stéphane Lacroix joined the adventure as Vice-President, thus giving a new dimension to the family business.

Roasting

Driven by the same passion, the two brothers developed exclusive roasting processes, designed to reveal all the aromatic richness of the selected beans.

Their approach is based on both precision and respect: an incinerator compliant with the strictest environmental standards not only reduces emissions, but also ensures consistency and optimal control of roasting profiles.

With more than 30 years of experience in the coffee industry and a solid gastronomic culture, we create coffees designed to harmonize with flavors.

Our blends are developed to accompany and enhance different products—cheeses, chocolates, spirits, and even certain dishes—in a constant search for balance and surprise.

Over the years, we have explored more than 60 local Quebec cheeses, several cocoas, and a wide variety of products, giving rise to unique and evolving pairings.

These experiences have been shared with hundreds of enthusiasts, curious to discover coffee differently.
